Refined Sugar
Almost everyone has a sweet tooth sugar food in one way or another. Today, refined sugar is available in many of our foods. Studies have shown that sugar consumption has increased over the last 20 years. Some people are aware and know how to limit their intake of sugar, while others are not aware that excessive consumption of food and drinks with high sugar can cause serious damage.
Used in Moderation
Excessive sugar intake has many adverse effects on our bodies and our health. This leads to diseases such as diabetes, obesity, suppressing the immune system, leading to tooth decay, depletion of minerals, vitamins and many other health risk factors. Sugar should be used sparingly when it comes to the daily diet. It is addictive and can make a 'big or high' to those who consume large amounts over a short period.
Stop Sugar Craving
- Discard all cookies, candies, chocolate bars and ice cream.
- Replace sweets with fruits. Of course, the fruits contain sugar, but are useful and healthy alternatives to deal with refined sugar.
- Never skip meals. Eat at least three times a day and do not miss breakfast. Hunger makes you do a quick snack, especially junk food is unhealthy. In addition, small, frequent meals to help stabilize blood sugar.
- Do not overeat. Overfeeding leads to fatigue and lack of energy, which increases your desire to have a snack bar as a stimulant.
- Avoid artificial sweeteners. Research shows that although they contain fewer calories, they are harmful as sugar, causing sugar cravings.
- Eat a multivitamin. These balance your diet and more energetic. You do not need sugar or coffee for extra stimulation and energy.
- Always brush your teeth after eating. This will eliminate the aftertaste makes your mouth fresh and clean and reduce your craving for something else intuition.
- And finally, if you really want a dessert, get a scoop of ice cream instead of two and enjoying every bit of both. Choose desserts with fresh fruit and less sugar.
Facts
- An unknown dangers of sugar intake is its effect on our immune system. Sugar suppresses white blood cells and reduces their number, and remove the immune system, making us more vulnerable to infections and diseases.
- Type 2 diabetes is a side effect. Constant supply sugar in the diet increases the secretion of insulin in the blood. Increase blood insulin levels suppress the immune system. If our immune system is weak, then your ability to fight disease is weakened.
- High levels of blood insulin can also cause weight gain. Insulin promotes fat storage, so when you eat foods high in refined sugar, you increase fat storage. The result is a rapid weight gain.
- Refined sugar contains no vitamins or minerals, and sugar to be metabolized, it must draw on reserves of the body of vitamins and minerals. When these reserves are depleted, the metabolism of cholesterol and fatty acids inhibited, which contributes to increased serum triglycerides, cholesterol, which causes obesity due to higher storage fatty acids around organs .
- All forms of processed sugars, like Nutra Sweet, cane juice, corn syrup, brown sugar, Splenda, powdered sugar and others have the same effect on our body. The chemical structures of these compounds are harmful to the body and should be eaten in moderation.
- Fruit sugars, on the contrary are healthier. Monosaccharides (simple sugars) in these natural foods are beneficial to the cells. Fruit sugar has a different effect on your body than processed sugar. Fruit sugars nourish and stimulate the body naturally. Your cells require simple sugars in fruits consistently since they are used to supply the body with the best materials.
- It's clear that sugar causes more harm than good, adds calories from your diet. Be careful when choosing food products of refined sugar and replace them with naturally sweet like fruits, maple syrup, stevia or raw honey, unfiltered.
- Start a life without sugar or reduce your sugar intake to the recommended six teaspoons per day for women and nine teaspoons for men for a healthy lifestyle.

Yep, I'm guilty of having too much sugar. I try to be careful though, and watch the saturates. If I want something sweet, I won't buy cakes and doughnuts, maybe have a fruit low fat yogurt. The temptation is sometimes there though. This is a good reminder to stay away.
